By downloading or using the Sip app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our app.
Our core commitment: Sip is a safe, judgment-free space for women to get dating advice. We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your conversations with third parties for marketing purposes. Your privacy is not a product we sell.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide you with a great experience. Here is a breakdown of what we collect and why:

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, location, photos, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it through a support request.
How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used exclusively to operate, improve, and personalise the Sip experience. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Generate personalised AI dating advice, red flag analysis, interest scores, bio feedback, and reply suggestions
- Personalise your experience based on your gender preference and app settings
- Manage your subscription and provide access to premium features
- Send optional push notifications with dating tips and reminders
- Analyse usage patterns in aggregate to improve app features and performance
- Diagnose technical issues, fix crashes, and maintain app stability
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use your conversation content for advertising targeting, do not train AI models on your personal conversations without explicit consent, and do not use your data to make automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party services that help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting, analytics platforms, and crash reporting tools. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.
- AI Processing: Text you submit to AI tools is sent to our AI provider to generate responses. This data is processed according to our AI provider's privacy policy and data processing agreements.
- Apple: Subscription and payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment card information.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Sip, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
AI Features & Third-Party Processing
Sip uses artificial intelligence to power its core features including the AI Dating Coach, Red Flags Checker, Interest Checker, Reply Assistant, and Bio Vibe Insights. Here is how AI processing works:
- When you use an AI-powered feature, the text you enter is transmitted securely to our AI processing endpoint.
- The AI generates a response based on your input and returns it to the app. This process happens in real time.
- We use industry-standard encryption for all data transmitted to and from AI processing services.
- Your conversation content is processed to generate your result and is not permanently stored on our servers beyond what is necessary for the immediate response.
- AI responses are educational guidance only and do not constitute professional psychological, legal, or medical advice.
Important: The AI coach provides general dating guidance based on common relationship dynamics and communication patterns. It is not a substitute for professional therapy, counselling, or mental health support. If you are experiencing a crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional.
Data Storage & Retention
Most of your data in Sip is stored locally on your device. This includes your analysis history, saved results, conversation history, and app preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
- Analysis history, bio results, and interest scores are stored locally in your device's secure file system.
- Images and screenshots generated within the app are saved locally to your device storage.
- App preferences and settings are stored in your device's local UserDefaults — not on our servers.
- Subscription status is verified through Apple's secure StoreKit framework.
- We retain analytics data in anonymised, aggregated form for up to 24 months.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device. We do not retain copies of your personal usage data after app deletion.
Security
We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses TLS encryption.
- API communications are protected with secure authentication headers.
- We do not store payment information — all purchases are processed securely by Apple.
- Local data on your device benefits from iOS's built-in encryption and security model.
- We regularly review our security practices and update them as needed.
While we implement strong security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information using industry best practices.
Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over your data and experience in Sip. Here is what you can do:
- Access Your Data: All your analysis history and results are visible directly within the app at any time.
- Delete Your Data: You can delete individual analysis results from within each feature screen. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
- Manage Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device Settings.
- Opt Out of Tracking: You can opt out of app tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt or through iOS Settings at any time.
- Manage Your Subscription: You can view, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
- Request Data Information: You can contact us to request information about what data we hold about you.
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively, including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 12.
Children's Privacy
Sip is designed exclusively for adults and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used Sip or provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 12. We will take prompt steps to delete that information from our systems.
By using Sip, you confirm that you are at least 17 years of age. If you do not meet this age requirement, please do not use the app.
Advertising
Sip may display advertisements served through Google AdMob. These ads help us keep the app available and support ongoing development. Here is what you should know about how advertising works in Sip:
- Ads are served by Google AdMob and may use certain non-personal identifiers to show relevant advertisements.
- We use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework — ads are only personalised if you explicitly grant tracking permission.
- If you decline tracking, you will still see ads but they will not be personalised based on your activity across other apps.
- Premium subscribers may have a reduced or ad-free experience depending on the subscription tier.
- We never show ads based on the content of your conversations or dating advice queries.
- Ad revenue is never generated by selling your conversation data to advertisers.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by:
- Displaying a prominent notice within the Sip app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Sending a push notification if we have your permission to do so
